Masterchef Winner Tim Anderson and Miso Tasty Menu Collaboration at Nanban Brixton

Miso Tasty’s founder Bonnie Chung and Nanban owner Tim Anderson (Master Chef 2011 winner), have joined foodie forces with a special miso inspired menu that will be available in his London-based Japanese restaurants, Nanban Brixton. Featuring Miso Tasty’s award-winning Japanese organic miso pastes, Anderson has designed a mouth-watering menu with nods to the Japanese classic dishes as well as some innovative twists; a signature of Tim Anderson’s modern cooking style.

I have always been a huge fan of what Bonnie is doing with Miso Tasty, bringing high-quality miso to the masses! It will be a real pleasure to bring her miso onto our menu in two of our customers’ favourite dishes and a brand new Sapporo-style miso ramen that I’m very excited about!
— Tim Anderson

The menu launched at the end of October 2019 and will remain a feature on the menu until early 2020. The dishes in the featured collaboration can be selected individually or as part of the Special Set menu for £23 for 3 courses. This will include Nasu Dengaku (Fried aubergine with sweet white miso glaze, topped with walnuts and microcresses), Sapporo Butter Corn Miso Ramen (Rich red miso broth topped with butter, corn, pork mince and cabbage. A vegetarian version is also available). The noodles come with a cube of creamy butter, a hallmark of ramen from Sapporo. Finally for dessert, the Nanbanana; Nanban’s signature dessert of bananas cooked in red miso butterscotch sauce with cinnamon ice cream, walnuts, and crispy fried noodles.

Tim and Bonnie have held admiration for one another’s work, both being big foodies, chefs with a specialism in Japanese cuisine and authors of award-winning Japanese cookbooks.

Tim began his business with a pop up restaurant following his MasterChef success and now owns two Nanban restaurants.
