Miso Turmeric Latte Recipe

When it’s chilly outside and you want something warming but also nourishing, this miso turmeric latte hits the spot. Ready in under 5 minutes, its a great alternative to a hot chocolate; indulgent without being too sweet.

The health benefits of enjoying turmeric are widely documented, especially when coupled with black pepper to support your body’s ability to absorb it. With the addition of our creamy magical miso, this turmeric latte is given depth and richness that rounds out the distinctive flavour of turmeric, making it moreish rather than achingly sweet like most creamy hot drinks.

To make this super frothy, a milk frother is recommended. You can use dairy or alternatives to milks - almond and soy milk work incredibly well bringing their own natural flavours to this tasty treat of a drink.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized pan, warm the coconut oil then add all the spices. Let it sizzle.
  2. Then add the milk and warm through.
  3. Cut a coin of fresh ginger and add it to the milk.
  4. Season with black pepper.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup and White Miso Paste until it is a smooth paste. This loosens up the miso paste so that it does not become lumpy in the latte.
  6. Turn off the heat and mix in the miso maple mix, using a whisk, to make sure there are no lumps and the miso maple is fully dissolved.
  7. The latte is now ready to drink, but if you want to make it extra frothy, using an electric milk frother to make the latte extra indulgent.
  8. To serve, add a dusting of cinnamon on top for the cafe experience at home.
