Miso Soup: The Health Benefits
Miso certainly enjoys a widely endorsed reputation for being a great health food. Just have a look at your local health shop or Holland and Barrett and you can see that miso has its place for anyone interested in health.
We often refer to miso as the ‘Ancient Superfood’, because of its long history in the traditional Japanese diet; rice, miso soup and fish, that is understood to be part of the reason why the Japanese live such long, healthy lives. For thousands of years, miso has been enjoyed daily by the Japanese to accompany breakfast, lunch and dinner as a source of natural protein and essential minerals and vitamins. In fact, on every Japanese expedition to the South Pole, the Japanese have taken miso with them as their prime source of protein.
Enjoyed regularly, miso is a great source of protein, fibre, zinc, manganese, as well as antioxidants including Vitamins B2 and K. We have miso soup regularly at Miso Tasty and we will certainly be having it more over the coming months as a winter warmer, to keep our immune system strong and healthy.
Miso Tasty are pleased to announce the launch of their new range of vegan Miso Soups made with real Japanese dashi, which have just launched in Waitrose and Amazon and soon at Ocado.
