This is a lovely rich and hearty, warming topping for ramen. You can add leftover roast beef from the Sunday roast or to make it fresh, choose a steak cut that is for frying rather than for roasting such as a sirloin or a fillet steak.

miso tasty ramen noodle kit with toasted sesame + miso

Ingredients for 1

  • Miso Tasty Ramen Noodle Kit
  • 1 x 150g sized fillet or sirloin steak
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 crunches of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of red miso paste.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 100g butternut squash cubed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • sea salt


  1. In a roasting tin, drizzle the butternut squash with olive oil and roast for 25 minutes at 180 degree fan until cooked through and golden.
  2. In a frying pan, warm up some olive oil, and in a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, miso paste and sesame oil and black pepper into a thick paste and coat the beef with it.
  3. Fry on both sides for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on how rare you like your steak.
  4. Let the steak rest whilst you make the Ramen noodle kit, according to pack instructions.
